The secret to a long life is often associated with strict diets, exhausting exercise routines, and mandatory early mornings. However, a 101-year-old woman from China completely shatters these stereotypes. The Daily Mail explains how she managed to live to such a remarkable age.

Secrets of a Chinese centenarian

Jiang Yueqin from the city of Wenzhou recently celebrated her 101st birthday, while still keeping her natural teeth, a sharp mind, and an incredible love of life. Her daughter jokes that her mother lives on the schedule of a typical teenager.

The centenarian goes to bed around 2 a.m., spending her evenings watching entertainment TV shows. She wakes up naturally around 10 a.m. and always starts her day with her favorite cup of fragrant green tea.

Late-night snacks and perfect sleep

The woman pays no attention to calories or strict schedules. She eats only twice a day, combining breakfast and lunch, and has dinner around 6 p.m. However, she never denies herself late-night snacks. If Jiang feels hungry after midnight, she happily reaches for cookies or potato chips.

She adopted this relaxed lifestyle several years ago. Previously, she was extremely active, walked frequently, and managed her household independently. However, after suffering a fall and injuring her arm, her family took over all household responsibilities.

Freed from daily chores, she began taking more daytime naps, which gradually shifted her sleeping schedule. Despite staying up late watching television, the quality of her sleep remains excellent. Jiang falls asleep within seconds of touching the pillow.

The real elixir of youth

Her family believes the true secret to her longevity lies not in her diet but in her unique outlook on life. Jiang has an exceptionally easygoing personality, never holds grudges, and does not take life's difficulties too seriously.

Throughout her life, she was surrounded by love. Her late husband did everything he could to make her smile, taking her to the movies and traveling extensively with her.

Even after entering her second century of life, Jiang continues to travel actively with her children and grandchildren and has already visited more than twenty cities.

Her story proves that a stress-free lifestyle, the ability to genuinely enjoy life's small pleasures, a cup of green tea, and the freedom to be yourself may work far better than strict restrictions or exhausting rules.
