One habit of long-livers that will help keep your mind clear in old age

Experts have spoken about the habits of long-livers from the "blue zones" (areas where people live for more than 100 years), which helps to avoid dementia and maintain mental clarity, reports ZOE podcast.
What are the habits of long-livers that will help maintain mental clarity?
Wendy Suzuki, a neuroscientist and professor at New York University, has devoted her career to researching the effects of fitness on the brain. She believes that just one workout a day can reduce the risk of mental decline by an impressive 30%.
According to her, long-livers from the "blue zones" do not go on fad diets and do not limit their diet.
These are usually people who have lived in the mountains all their lives. They are constantly moving, hiking in the mountains, and eat very little red meat. They also prefer a plant-based diet.
Dr. Suzuki outlined two key benefits. She pointed out that numerous studies indicate that fitness can alleviate symptoms of anxiety and stress.
In addition, the expert reports that exercise can also improve your concentration and cognitive function.
This trend is highlighted in a new study that showed that mice undergoing fitness tests experienced a 63% reduction in tau tangles, a key marker of Alzheimer's disease.
Although this study was conducted in animals, scientists believe that similar trends will be seen in humans and are planning larger clinical trials to test this.
"People from the 'blue zones' live for more than 100 years with good mental abilities and do not degrade," the expert noted.
