After the attack on the Olenya airfield, the Russians made a request to strengthen air defense. The enemy also plans to build up improvised means to protect infrastructure, says the representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) Andrii Yusov.

"There is information on the request to strengthen air defense. Specifically, it concerns the Pantsir system if we are talking about Olenya. In general, other means are actively used, including rubber devices to protect fighters and strategic aviation, particularly tires. This is how they protect them. They are going to increase these improvised means, which can be done without any advanced modern technologies," Yusov explained.

The DIU representative also noted that after the airfield strike, “there was a big noise in the swamps,” as such strikes are very sensitive to the enemy.

According to Yusov, the aircraft that were hit were operational and directly involved in strikes on Ukrainian territory.

Strike on the Olenya airfield

On July 27, sources from RBC-Ukraine reported an attack by Ukrainian intelligence drones on an oil refinery and three military airfields in Russia. Later, the intelligence officially confirmed this information and called the operation an "Olympic achievement."

Yesterday, on July 30, Yusov stated that during the strike on the Olenya airfield, two strategic Tu-22M3 bombers were damaged.
