'There is real chance to end war': Zelenskyy reveals details of call with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that he spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump, saying there is a real chance to end the war.
Zelenskyy began by congratulating Trump and all Americans on the 250th anniversary of US independence. According to the president, the two leaders had a productive phone conversation.
"We are grateful to the United States for all the assistance it has provided, from Javelins and Patriots to political support, and we deeply appreciate that America stands with us in defending our independence. I am grateful to every American who cares about the future of Ukraine, Europe, and everyone around the world for whom freedom matters," he said.
The presidents also discussed the current situation on the battlefield in Ukraine and ongoing diplomatic efforts. Zelenskyy stressed that Washington's resolve will be crucial to ending the war and announced that he and Trump had agreed to meet during the NATO summit.
"There is a real chance to end the war, and America's determination will be decisive. We agreed to continue our conversation in person at the NATO summit in Ankara," the head of the Ukrainian state said.
Summarizing, the president once again thanked the United States and Donald Trump, congratulated America on Independence Day, and wished the country continued prosperity and success.

As previously reported, Zelenskyy congratulated Trump and the American people on Independence Day today, noting that Ukraine and the United States are united by shared values. He emphasized that American leadership remains a cornerstone of freedom around the world.
Notably, the most recent meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump took place several weeks ago at the G7 summit. According to the Financial Times, the US president was impressed by Ukraine's long-range strike operations deep inside Russian territory.
Following the summit, Trump also told reporters that Ukraine is performing well on the battlefield despite facing Russia, a much larger country with significantly greater military resources.
