Office of the President of Ukraine counts on Israel's unlimited influence on the Trump administration
Israel has a serious geopolitical influence, including on the future administration of the United States, and the Ukrainian side calls on Israel to use this influence to put pressure on Russia, says Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in his speech at the fifth Kyiv Jewish Forum.
“I emphasize that Israel has influence. It will also have unlimited influence on the new administration of the United States. I would like Israel to take advantage of this not to tolerate the Russian Federation,” he said.
Russia wants to dominate through violence, posing a danger to the Middle East, among other things. In this context, Podolyak said, Ukraine wants to receive firmer support at various levels: “Ukraine not only has the right, using international law, to defend its territory but also has the right to strike at the territory of Russia. I would like this position to be unambiguous.”
He is convinced that Israel and Ukraine should work together against the modern axis of evil in the format of advocacy on various platforms, diplomatic, and informational channels.
“It is important to realize that we are on the same side of the barricades and cannot win the war without each other, because not individual countries, not individual organizations are against us, but a completely conscious alliance that will only gain momentum if it is not suppressed today,” Podolyak said.
He believes that today it is impossible to sit down at the negotiating table diplomatically and negotiate an end to the war because only military coercion will work against the aggressor.
This year's forum, organized by the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine and The Jerusalem Post, is dedicated to the confrontation between Russia, Iran, and North Korea. The United States plays a key role in resolving this issue.
KJF-2024 was opened with a speech by Boris Lozhkin, President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, and Vice President of the World Jewish Congress. He reminded that during the previous term of Donald Trump, Ukraine began to receive more military support, which subsequently helped to counter Russian aggression.
