Andriivka, located in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian forces defeated the Russians, allows for the encirclement of the enemy in Bakhmut, where heavy fighting is taking place, said the spokesperson of the Eastern Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiі Cherevatyi, during a television broadcast.

"It (Andriivka) and any other settlement around Bakhmut allow for the completion of the operation to encircle Bakhmut and to surround or besiege the enemy," he said.

Cherevatyi also added that the enemy no longer has the upper hand, as the occupiers are well-prepared, mining their positions. Therefore, before launching any assault operations, all units undergo thorough training and coordination.

"This includes passing through minefields, anti-tank trenches, and utilizing provided German Biber (bridge-laying vehicles)," the spokesperson added.

Frontline situation

On the morning of July 25, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their advance in the Bakhmut direction. In response, the Russian occupiers withdrew from their positions in the area of Andriivka, Donetsk region. Additionally, Ukrainian forces achieved progress in the Staromykhailivka area, Donetsk region, advancing 500 meters along the frontline. Currently, the defense forces are consolidating their positions on the achieved frontlines.
