What King Charles III said about his brother’s arrest
The statement was issued just a few hours after Andrew’s detention and was personally signed by the monarch. In his address, the King was uncompromising regarding his relative’s arrest.
“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities,” the King said.
He also expressed his support and cooperation in this process.
“Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all,” he added.

What is known about Andrew’s arrest
News of the former prince’s detention, who had his title revoked by the King amid scandal and allegations related to his connections with Epstein, emerged on February 19. Searches were also conducted at Andrew’s residences.
The royal family member is suspected of abusing his position while serving as a trade envoy for the United Kingdom. During that period, he may have provided confidential information to a businessman.
Recall that Epstein was first convicted in 2008 in Florida for assaulting a 14-year-old girl. A plea agreement resulted in a reduced sentence of 13 months.
Later, in 2019, he was arrested for trafficking minors and was found dead in his cell on August 10.
