A fifteen-year-old schoolgirl opened fire at a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, US. Two people died and six others were injured, reports CNN.

According to preliminary data, the victims include one of the teachers and a high school student. Two victims are in critical condition. Four others sustained moderate to light injuries.

Abundant Life is a non-denominational Christian school where children study from kindergarten to high school. At the time of the shooting, there were about 390 students in the school.

Police said the girl opened fire with a 9 mm pistol. The motive for her actions remains unknown.

The police received a call about the shooting at about 11 a.m. local time. The officers, who were 5 kilometers away from the school, arrived at the scene promptly. They did not use their weapons in the building, as the suspect had apparently committed suicide before they arrived.

According to law enforcement, the shooter was 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, who used the name Samantha. The police said that the girl died of a self-inflicted gunshot.
