Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said his country is ready to host the next round of peace talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, according to the Ukrainian president's official website.

On Saturday, April 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Türkiye on an official visit, where he met with Erdoğan. During the meeting, the Ukrainian leader shared details of his contacts with the US team.

Erdoğan, in turn, assured that "Türkiye is ready to play a significant role in achieving a reliable peace for Ukraine" and reaffirmed support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"The President of Türkiye also confirmed that his country is ready to host the next round of talks between the delegations of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia," the statement said.

Peace talks on pause

In early 2026, Ukraine, the United States, and Russia held three rounds of trilateral peace talks. Another meeting was planned for March, but it was canceled after the US-Israeli operations against Iran began.

Since then, no direct trilateral contacts have taken place. Presidential Office advisor Mykhailo Podolyak recently reiterated that political negotiations to end the war remain on hold due to the escalation in the Middle East.

Earlier, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov also said the talks were paused because US negotiators were "busy with something else."

At the same time, Ukraine's Presidential Office head Kyrylo Budanov said that Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are expected to arrive in Kyiv later this month, with their visit anticipated after Easter.
