Türkiye is using its own communication channels to bring Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table with Ukraine, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, according to Anadolu.
He spoke about his efforts during the NATO summit in Ankara.
"While supporting Ukraine, we are also using our channels of communication to guide Russia toward peace. Regarding the war in Ukraine, I share Mr. Trump's vision of peace," the Turkish leader stressed.
Erdoğan also added that he supports the US president's initiative to form a list of Ukraine's priority needs (PURL).
"I remind you that we must be fully united in the fight against all forms and manifestations of terrorism," the Turkish leader noted.
By the way, the topic of ending the war in Ukraine was also raised during the NATO Parliamentary Summit. Against this background, Türkiye called for more active peace efforts.
"As an ally that can negotiate with both sides, initiates processes that produce results, and has gained the trust of both sides thanks to its fair position, we will continue to actively contribute to efforts to achieve peace," Erdoğan said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Ankara was ready to once again become a platform for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
He noted that the diplomatic process had reached a deadlock, so Türkiye calls on the parties to return to dialogue and confirms its readiness to host their delegations.
