Türkiye initiates ratification process for Sweden's NATO membership bid
Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, has signed the protocol for Sweden's accession to NATO, according to Hürriyet.

Currently, the membership application has been forwarded to the Turkish Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Sweden's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance
Sweden has been waiting for nearly one and a half years to join the North Atlantic Alliance. Previously, Stockholm planned to integrate with NATO along with Finland. Both countries revised their non-aligned policies following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Türkiye demanded that Sweden took steps to suppress the Kurdistan Workers' Party, as a condition for ratifying the membership application.
On October 23, Erdoğan signed the protocol for Sweden's integration into NATO for consideration in the Turkish Parliament.
