Sumy hit twice: Dozens of homes damaged, children wounded

Russian forces attacked residential buildings in Sumy twice last evening, April 10. As a result of the enemy shelling, many homes, a kindergarten, and more than a dozen people were affected, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Police.
Rescuers said that residential buildings were struck twice. As a result of the shelling, they were damaged, and fires broke out at the impact sites. In particular:
- the first strike hit an apartment building: the roof was destroyed and a fire broke out. After extinguishing the blaze, rescuers began dismantling hazardous structures. Five people sought medical help with acute stress reactions.
- the second strike hit another residential building. Fires broke out on the first and third floors. Rescuers saved an injured woman and handed her over to medics. Preliminary reports indicate that five people were injured, including a child.
The State Emergency Service added that residents were evacuated. At the same time, the National Police clarified that 17 people have been reported injured in Sumy as a result of the shelling. Among them are a 14-year-old child and 13 women of various ages.

According to police, a total of 12 apartment buildings and one private house were damaged in the city.
Shelling of Sumy
It should be noted that on the night of April 4, Russian forces also attacked Sumy with drones. At that time, the enemy also hit a high-rise building, causing a fire to break out on the upper floors.
In addition, a day earlier, Russians struck a shopping mall in the city center. As a result of the attack, the building was damaged and two people were injured.
We also reported that in the early hours of February 27, Russian forces attacked the center of Sumy as well. A hotel was hit twice.
