Ukrainian drones traveled more than 3,000 kilometers to strike the Omsk Oil Refinery, delivering the deepest strike inside Russia since the start of the war, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"The Defense Forces continue working to deprive Russia of the economic capacity to wage war. Special Operations Forces operators struck the largest oil refinery in Russia, located beyond the Ural Mountains," the ministry said.
Ukrainian drones hit a facility critical to the operation of the entire plant. The distance to the target exceeded 3,000 kilometers.
"While Russian strikes are aimed at plunging Ukraine into chaos and destroying our homes and businesses, the Defense Forces are using force to compel Russia to make peace," the Ministry of Defense added.
The ministry stressed that the consequences of the war will also be felt by those who support its continuation.
During the night of July 6, Ukrainian forces attacked the Omsk Oil Refinery in Russia. Hits and a fire were reported on the plant's premises.
According to preliminary information, the ELOU-AVT-11 crude oil primary processing unit was struck.
The Omsk Oil Refinery is Russia's largest oil-processing facility and produces, among other things, aviation fuel, diesel, and gasoline for the needs of the Russian military.
