Vice Prime Minister proposes holding Ukraine-NATO Council meeting to discuss energy security
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister, Olha Stefanishyna, held talks with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, discussing the possibility of a new Ukraine-NATO Council meeting, according to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's press service.
The official reminded that in July of this year, the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council took place when Russia decided to withdraw from the grain deal. Ukraine primarily views this format as a tool for integration with the Alliance, emphasized Stefanishyna.
During the meeting with Stoltenberg, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed organizing a new Ukraine-NATO Council meeting on energy security in light of possible Russian attacks on our country's energy infrastructure.
One of the key topics of the negotiations was Ukraine's urgent needs.
"The more weapons we receive, the sooner we will liberate all our territories. Our most urgent needs to remain unchanged – air defense systems, tanks, heavy armored vehicles, ammunition, F-16 fighters," Stefanishyna emphasized.
Ukraine-NATO Council
The Ukraine-NATO Council format was created during the Alliance's July summit in Vilnius.
So far, only one meeting has been held in this format. It discussed the possibilities of exporting Ukrainian grain after Russia withdrew from the grain deal.
