Spanish Foreign Minister arrives in Ukraine

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday, January 28.
“I just arrived in Ukraine. It's been 3 years of unjust and unjustifiable war. We must make this the year of peace. A fair peace that guarantees the sovereignty and freedom of the Ukrainians. Spain supports them in this,” Albares wrote.
At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that he and Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Mykola Tochytskyi are in Lviv.
There they will meet with Albares and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.
Spain's assistance to Ukraine
Spain has provided Ukraine with €600 million in military aid, including weapons, ammunition, communications and intelligence equipment, and medical equipment.
In late May, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Spain would provide Ukraine with additional air defense equipment.
In July, Spain had begun transferring a new batch of military aid to Ukraine. It includes 10 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks, several excavators, and a large number of anti-tank missiles.
In addition, earlier the Spanish Defense Ministry reported that Madrid would provide Ukraine with a new additional battery of HAWK air defense systems. The system is scheduled to be delivered in September.
