The National Intelligence Service of South Korea stated that North Korean weapons are being used by Hamas militants in the war with Israel despite Pyongyang's repeated denial of weapons supply agreements, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The intelligence agency confirmed that Hamas militants are using the F-7 rocket launcher, which is produced in North Korea.

Earlier, Voice of America journalists published a report stating that the detonator of the F-7 rocket launcher, likely used by Hamas, had a combination of Korean characters and numbers.

"The fuse with the Korean characters is located in the mid-section of the North Korean-made F-7 rocket," the intelligence agency reported.

The National Intelligence Service of South Korea is collecting and accumulating detailed evidence of possible supplies of North Korean weapons to Hamas militants.

Background

On October 7, Hamas militants invaded Israel, killing and kidnapping both military and civilians. Shortly thereafter, the IDF began Operation Iron Swords and shelled terrorist locations in the Gaza Strip.

Later, Israel's ambassador to South Korea, Akiva Tor, stated that Hamas militants had used North Korean weapons to attack Israel.

South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik stated that the country fears an attack from North Korea against the backdrop of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.
