Some areas of Kupiansk too dangerous for police and emergency crews – District administration

In Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, there are areas where State Emergency Service (DSNS) and police personnel no longer go due to danger, says District Military Administration head Andrii Kanashevych on Suspilne TV.
"The police and the DSNS are still able to enter certain areas of Kupiansk and nearby settlements, but there are already territories both in Kupiansk and in some other settlements where no one can go anymore because the danger is too great — enemy troops are very close, and it is extremely dangerous there," Kanashevych said.
According to him, it is practically impossible to move around Kupiansk freely and safely due to the very high density and activity of FPV drones.
"Yesterday once again showed that the enemy doesn’t care whether it’s a civilian vehicle or a military one — they attack everything they see. They are simply hunting for transport; any vehicle that enters the FPV drones’ range, they try to attack," the head of the District Military Administration noted.
Kanashevych added that fewer than a thousand people remain in Kupiansk, and evacuation is proceeding slowly.
"It’s impossible to restore power supply — there is significant destruction. Communication is down, although in some settlements near Kupiansk, there are elevated areas where mobile service is available. However, in Kupiansk itself and toward Dvorichna and beyond, it is not. There is no gas, no electricity, no water. People cook outdoors and live in basements. For now, while it’s warm, it’s still somehow possible to survive in such conditions. But autumn and winter are coming," he said.
Situation in Kupiansk
Earlier, we reported that as a result of prolonged Russian attacks, 95% of the infrastructure in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, has been destroyed.
In July, Pavlo Shamshyn, spokesperson for the Kharkiv operational-tactical group, said that Russian forces planned to build pontoon crossings for armored vehicles across the Oskil River to create conditions for encircling or storming the city of Kupiansk, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are currently thwarting these plans.
We also reported earlier that the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense released a video showing a special forces operative single-handedly repelling an assault by Russian troops in the Kupiansk direction.
