According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, three thousand servicemen from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) are already on Russian territory, and their numbers are set to increase significantly, according to his statement during a press conference at the fourth summit of Ukraine - Northern Europe.

The President noted that three thousand North Korean soldiers and officers are currently in Russia, and Russian command is also utilizing them in Ukraine.

"We believe that the information from our intelligence is true, and soon they will have 12,000. This should happen soon enough; soon about years or months. Of course, it is escalation. It is surprising how our big strategic partners say, 'We should not cross red lines and escalate,'" Zelenskyy stated.

Involvement of the North Korean military in the war against Ukraine

Last week, media reports began to emerge regarding the deployment of North Korean military personnel to fight alongside Russia in the war against Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, twelve thousand North Korean soldiers have been transferred to Russia.

Some of them have started training for combat in the Kursk region.

Soon, Russian and North Korean forces may launch an offensive against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

US President Joe Biden called the situation very dangerous.

The US will not impose restrictions on the Ukrainian Armed Forces for using American-made weapons if North Korean troops fully engage in the conflict.
