Sirens and explosions in Belgorod: Russians complain about tense situation
Russians complain about explosions and sirens in Belgorod. Russian officials claim that the situation in the Belgorod region is "tense," according to the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
"The situation in Belgorod continues to remain tense. There were two shelling incidents in the morning. Air defense systems were activated," he wrote.
Gladkov complained that "yesterday was a hard day." He claims that allegedly one person died and 11 were injured yesterday.
Meanwhile, Russians are sharing photos and videos of sirens and explosions on social media.
As usual, Russians accuse Ukraine of allegedly shelling Belgorod and the surrounding area.
Situation in Belgorod
On December 30, Russian media claimed an alleged shelling of the city of Belgorod. It was reported that over 40 buildings and 60 vehicles were damaged.
Soon after, RBC-Ukraine's sources in the Ukraine's intelligence services reported that the Security and Defense Forces launched a missile strike on military targets in Belgorod.
According to Russian claims, the so-called shelling continued on January 1 and 2. Russian officials and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claim that the missiles were intercepted.
