President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy hinted at carrying out operations to destroy towers used to guide Shahed drones on the territory of Belarus, the head of state reports.
"Now, relays of modern Shahed drones — this is already new equipment that appeared on the territory of Belarus and helps hit our people and energy sector. Because precisely thanks to these relays, correction is carried out. We did everything so that three or four of them already no longer exist," Zelenskyy said.
He also noted that this was done because, with their help, Russia used jet drones, but not only through Belarus.
"They went not only through their territory, but they also went with technological support that is carried out from the territory of Belarus," the head of state added.
Strengthening sanctions against Lukashenko for helping Russia
"We will monitor military assistance that he (self-proclaimed president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko — ed.) gives. "We did not raise this issue with the American side because we saw that Americans are inclined to find result with him through a diplomatic path," Zelenskyy added.
He also stressed that Ukraine will engage in this track and discuss with Americans that this cannot be, because he supports war and helps kill civilians.
"We have evidence of this. All this is on maps, videos, everything recorded — how from the territory of Belarus, thanks to the Shaheds relays entered. And after that, strikes were carried out against us, and there were civilian losses. For us, this is a crime," the head of state concluded.
What preceded
On February 18, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine introduced a package of sanctions against the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, for helping Russia in the war.
He said that in the second half of 2025, on the territory of Belarus Russians deployed a system of relays to control strike drones, which increased the ability of the Russian army to strike northern regions of Ukraine from the Kyiv region to Volyn.
The president noted that part of the strikes, in particular on energy facilities and railways in Ukrainian regions, could not have carried out without such help from Belarus.
Ukrainian hackers for more than six months secretly monitored Russian drone operators and collected evidence of the use of the territory of Belarus for attacks on Ukraine.
