North Korea continues to supply artillery shells to Russia, with Pyongyang reportedly having transferred over 12 million rounds to the aggressor state.

This is according to a report by South Korea's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), cited by Yonhap.

Data from South Korean intelligence indicate that North Korea has sent Russia around 28,000 containers filled with weapons and artillery shells.

"If calculated with 152 mm single shells, (the number of supplied shells) are presumed to have reached more than 12 million," the DIA noted.

Deliveries of conventional weapons and the deployment of North Korean soldiers to Russia began as early as October last year.

North Korea’s aid to Russia

As a reminder, just yesterday, July 12, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that North Korea is now supplying nearly half of Russia’s ammunition.

He noted that North Korea possesses massive stockpiles and continues weapons production on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov — who is currently visiting North Korea — assured that his country is ready to support Moscow’s efforts to "tackle the root cause of the Ukrainian crisis."
