What preceded
Today, on October 8, it became known that US President Joe Biden decided to postpone his visit to Germany, which was scheduled for October 10. The reason for this decision was the severe hurricane Milton in the US.
During the visit, Biden was supposed to chair a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein) on October 12. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for this meeting, where he planned to present a victory plan.
It was also expected that before the Ramstein meeting, Biden would hold talks with Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. According to reports from Western media, the leaders were planning to discuss continuing support for Ukraine and possible ways to achieve a just peace with Russia.
