Satellite images reveal aftermath of strike on Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia
Drones attacked the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the Rostov region, Russia, on December 19. At least one fuel tank burned down, Radio Liberty reports.
"New satellite images reveal that at least one fuel storage tank at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia's Rostov region was destroyed by fire following a drone strike five days ago," the report states.
It is noted that after the attack, the Novoshakhtinsk refinery ceased operations at both of its primary oil processing units.

Earlier, explosions were heard in Russia's Novoshakhtinsk on the night of December 19. Later, the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, confirmed a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery.
According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk, that was struck overnight, plays a significant role in the Russian defense industry.
