On Monday, October 6, there was a partial power outage in Belgorod, Russia. Russians reported another attack on the thermal power plant, according to Russian Telegram channels.

On the afternoon of October 6, power was partially cut off in Belgorod after another attack on the local Luch thermal power plant. Local Telegram channels report that “missile strikes were recorded.” Before that, regional authorities had announced a missile threat.

Eyewitnesses report power outages in several areas of the city. Videos are circulating online showing a fire at the thermal power plant, with thick smoke rising above it.

There is currently no official information from the Ukrainian Defense Forces regarding this incident.

Strikes on Belgorod

On the evening of October 5, an explosion rocked the Russian city of Belgorod, and a fire broke out at the local Luch thermal power plant.

The attack caused large-scale power outages in the regional center and surrounding areas.

According to local authorities, the nighttime attack caused large damage to power grids in seven municipalities, leaving more than 40,000 residents without electricity.

This is the second attack in a week that has left Belgorod in darkness. The previous strike on the Luch thermal power plant took place on September 28, when large-scale blackouts paralyzed the city's electricity and water supply.
