Russians pushed back from Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk border after near breakthrough

Russians are trying to establish a foothold on the outskirts of the Dnipropetrovsk region, but Ukrainian forces are blocking their efforts, reports Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman for the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Group of Troops.
Trehubov explained that, from a political standpoint, allowing Russians to secure even a single settlement in the Dnipropetrovsk region is unacceptable, even if such a move could be justified tactically.
"That is why the Russians are currently stopped at the administrative border. They are attempting active incursions beyond this line and trying to gain a foothold in border villages. There were active attempts to establish themselves in some settlements. At one point, they almost succeeded. But, in any case, they were pushed back," he said.
Recently, analysts at DeepState updated their interactive map. According to the new data, Russians allegedly control the villages of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka, located near the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region with Donetsk.
Trehubov told RBC-Ukraine that Russian soldiers entered these villages and are trying to secure positions there. He did not confirm an occupation.
Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that rumors of the alleged occupation of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka are false. Ukrainian troops continue to defend the region's borders.
