Russians launch missile at infrastructure in Sumy region
Today, on August 6, Russian forces carried out a missile strike against the Sumy district, targeting infrastructure, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
"Preliminarily, no casualties have been reported. All necessary services are on-site. The consequences of the enemy strike are being clarified," the administration said.
Civilians were urged not to ignore air raid sirens.
An air raid alert was declared in the Sumy region at 11:10 AM.
At 2:40 PM, Ukraine’s Air Force warned of a potential threat from ballistic weapons from the northeast, and at 3:00 PM, they reported a guided air bomb heading toward Sumy.
Currently, no further details on the situation have been disclosed.
Russian attacks on Ukraine
In the early hours of August 6, Russian forces launched several attacks against Ukraine, including:
- Four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were fired from the Voronezh region of Russia;
- Two guided Kh-59 air-launched missiles over the Sea of Azov;
- 16 Shahed-type strike UAVs.
In total, Ukraine's air defense successfully intercepted 19 targets, including 15 UAVs.
Additionally, around 10 AM, Russian forces struck the central district of Kharkiv. As of now, eight people have been reported injured.
