Situation in Crimea
On the night of June 25, the temporarily occupied Crimea came under a massive drone attack. The attacks were particularly intense in the Simferopol, Pervomaiske, and Krasnoperekopsk districts, as well as in Sevastopol, Yevpatoria, and Yalta. Furthermore, power outages began on the peninsula. A fuel crisis continues on the peninsula following attacks on oil facilities.
Shortly before these strikes, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a large-scale special operation, during which the infrastructure of the Saky and Hvardiiske military airfields was targeted.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s operation in Crimea had been carefully planned. He also emphasized that if Western allies made the necessary decisions regarding arms supplies, Kyiv would be able to persuade Russia to make peace.
