During another massive attack on Ukraine on November 19, the air defense system shot down 15 out of 20 Russian kamikaze drones launched. This time, the occupiers did not deviate from their usual tactics.

"The air defense operated in the Kyiv, Poltava, and Cherkasy regions. As a result of the air battle, 15 Shahed-136/131 UAVs were destroyed," the Air Force announced.

Where did the attack come from

As military officials noted, on the night of November 19, 2023, the occupiers attacked from the north, from the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, with Shahed-type attack UAVs.

"Launches of 20 attack drones were recorded," the Air Force added.

Regions where enemy drones were shot down:

Sumy region

Three drones were shot down in the Sumy region.

"Tonight, in the skies of Sumy, 3 enemy Shahed UAVs were destroyed. Thanks to our sky defenders!" the statement from Sumy Regional Military Administration said.

Cherkasy region

Additionally, the air defense system operated against drones in the Cherkasy region. According to preliminary data, the military shot down an enemy UAV over Zvenyhorod.

"Fragments slightly damaged five buildings. People were not harmed," noted Ihor Taburets, the head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

Shelling of Ukraine on November 19

This night, Russian forces made a new attempt to attack the territory of Ukraine using kamikaze drones. Air raid alerts were announced in Kyiv and the surrounding areas, as well as in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Odesa, and Cherkasy regions.

In Kyiv and the surrounding areas, alarms sounded multiple times. During the drone attack on Kyiv, the air defense system destroyed about ten enemy targets.
