On the morning of Saturday, June 27, Russians reported loud explosions in Volgograd. An industrial facility in the city was reportedly targeted, according to Russian Telegram channels.

Around 03:50 a.m. (Kyiv time), local channels began reporting that a missile threat had been declared in the Volgograd region. In addition, residents of the Penza, Orenburg, and Samara regions, as well as Tatarstan, were also warned of a missile threat.

At the same time, social media users began sharing footage showing unidentified missiles. Some videos also appeared to show strikes in Volgograd, followed by large plumes of smoke rising over the city.

An OSINT channel clarifies that, preliminarily, the Titan-Barrikady plant was hit in the strike. This is one of the oldest and largest enterprises in Volgograd, specializing in heavy mechanical engineering.

In particular, the enterprise manufactures launch systems, artillery equipment, and components for missile systems, namely Iskander-M, Yars, and Topol-M.

The Titan-Barrikady plant has been under international sanctions since 2022 due to its involvement in the production of weapons for the Russian military.

Other strikes

It is worth recalling that earlier this week, on June 22, Russians reported explosions in Voronezh. It later emerged that Ukrainian forces had struck the Voronezh Semiconductor Devices Plant Sborka with missiles.

We also reported that on May 29, drones attacked one of Russia's largest oil refineries in Volgograd — Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka. A fire broke out at the facility.
