Footage showing the drone attack on Volgograd began appearing online shortly after midnight. Initially, Russians filmed the drones in flight, and later videos showing explosions and fires emerged.
According to OSINT channels, drones apparently struck the Volgograd refinery — the images show a large fire and smoke. The facility in question is the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka plant, one of Russia’s largest oil refineries. The enterprise is part of Lukoil and is strategically important to Russia’s fuel market.
The refinery processes tens of millions of tons of oil annually and produces gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products. Part of this output is used to supply the Russian army and military logistics.
Because of its importance to Russia’s energy and defense sectors, the facility has repeatedly been mentioned as a potential target for drone strikes.

As is known, Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia’s oil and gas infrastructure have turned into a systematic campaign aimed at the very foundation of Russia’s economy. Russia’s losses from these strikes have already reached approximately $100 billion.
At the same time, Russia is threatening systematic strikes on Kyiv, linking them to Ukrainian drone attacks on the aggressor’s oil industry.
