Around 12 p.m., residents of Voronezh began reporting the explosions. According to online reports, tall plumes of smoke are rising above the attack sites.
Photos and videos of the alleged strikes have appeared on social media.
The pro-government Russian Telegram channel Baza claims that Voronezh was attacked with Storm Shadow missiles, though there is no official confirmation of this information.

Meanwhile, other public channels report that the strike targeted the Voronezh-based Sborka semiconductor plant. The facility is subject to sanctions from a number of countries.
Why plant is is mportant
According to available data, the plant manufactures:
- Transistors
- Diodes
- Integrated circuits
- Power modules.
These components are used in the on-board control systems of Russian missiles, including the Iskander-K, Kh-101, and Kalibr.
The plant’s products are also used in radar stations and air defense systems, including the S-400.

Furthermore, according to publicly available information, the plant supplies semiconductor matrices for the Zorya-61M onboard computing system, which is part of the 9M727 cruise missile of the Iskander-K complex.
What Russian authorities say
Russian authorities confirmed the attack on the Voronezh region.
The region’s governor reported that several high-speed aerial targets were allegedly destroyed over the region. He also stated that one of the enterprises had been damaged.
According to him, three people were injured as a result of the incident.
However, he did not specify which facility was involved.
Attacks on Voronezh
There have been attacks on Voronezh before.
For example, in January, at least 20 loud explosions rang out in the sky above the city, and they were heard by residents in various neighborhoods. Russian air defense forces attempted to shoot down the drones. Local authorities covered up the consequences of that attack.
