Russian troops using 'underground moles' tactic near Vovchansk - Armed Forces
Near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops are employing the tactic of "underground moles," according to a spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational-Tactical Group, Vitalii Sarantsev.
"There are locations where the enemy moves between buildings and creates underground tunnels, connecting basements to basements. They are using underground communications that previously functioned as sewer passages, routes for communications personnel, or heating networks," Sarantsev explained.
According to him, this tactic helps the enemy remain undetected and quickly move between positions.
Situation in Vovchansk
At the end of September, Ukrainian forces expelled Russian troops from the aggregate plant in Vovchansk. The operation was carried out by the Defense Intelligence with the participation of fighters from the Russian Volunteer Corps.
According to intelligence reports, the aggregate plant sustained significant damage; however, it is possible to hold defense at this site. During the operation, about 20 Russian soldiers were captured.
After the liberation of the aggregate plant in Vovchansk, the situation in the city remains extremely tense due to constant attempts by Russian troops to attack the facility.
