Russian troops strike Kramatorsk, leaving some areas in darkness
On October 5, Russian troops shelled Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. The city experienced electricity issues as a result, according to Donbas News.
"The Russian forces struck Kramatorsk. According to preliminary information, they used guided aerial bombs (KABs)," the report states.
Following the explosions, smoke was rising, and electricity was lost in some areas of the city. Local residents reported hearing four explosions.
According to media reports, there were subsequent strikes later on.
No one was injured
Later, the head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration, Oleksandr Honcharenko, said that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
“We continue to record the consequences of the enemy shelling of Kramatorsk,” he wrote on Facebook.
Shelling of Kramatorsk
Russian troops consistently shell the Donetsk region. Cities and villages located not only along the front line but also further away are under attack.
Kramatorsk, which was occupied by Russian forces in 2014, has been targeted multiple times.
For instance, the occupiers shelled Kramatorsk on September 22, damaging houses, vehicles, and injuring several people.
In mid-August, the invaders attacked Kramatorsk with Smerch multiple launch rocket system. One rocket hit a two-story building, while others struck an industrial area. Debris damaged a gas pipeline, and one person was rescued from under the rubble at that time.
