Strike on Yaroslavl oil refinery
According to military sources, Ukrainian defense forces targeted a strategically important facility in Russia's Yaroslavl region, triggering a fire following the strike.
The Yaroslavl refinery is one of Russian key oil-processing facilities, with an annual capacity of around 15 million tons of crude. Its products, including diesel and jet fuel, are critical for the logistics of the Russian troops. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
Strikes on occupied territories and Russian sites
Besides the Yaroslavl refinery, Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully targeted fuel depots near Donetsk, ammunition depots near Manhush and Hlyboke settlements, and a repair unit near Prokhorivka over the past day.
In the Kherson region, a drone command post near Nova Kakhovka and a command-observation point near Liubymivka were hit.
Damage was also reported to a logistics depot near Mizhhiria in occupied Crimea and a fuel storage site near Unecha in the Bryansk region.
As of the morning, fires continue at the Novatek-Ust-Luga refinery and the Transneft-port Primorsk terminal in the Leningrad region.
Russia's strategic facilities under attack
Ukraine's Armed Forces have been systematically targeting the aggressor's critical infrastructure. On March 28, FP-5 Flamingo missiles struck the Promsintez explosives plant in the Samara region, which produces over 30,000 tons of explosives annually.
Overnight on March 28, drones hit the Yaroslavl refinery, one of Russia's largest oil-processing plants.
Earlier, on March 26, the Kirishi refinery in the Leningrad region — the country's second-largest — was attacked, followed by a major fire.
