Russian strikes hit Ukrainian ports and railways in attempt to disrupt logistics

Last night, Russian forces again attacked Ukraine's critical logistics infrastructure. Ports and railways were targeted, including a traction substation in the Chernihiv region.
This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba on Telegram.
According to him, energy workers immediately began restoration work on the railway overnight, but the enemy again directed drones at the site of the recovery efforts.
"Thanks to the monitoring system, workers were safely evacuated — there were no casualties. Train traffic is ensured, with reserve locomotives deployed," Kuleba said.
Ports were also hit. Some buildings and infrastructure elements were damaged. Fires that broke out following the strikes were quickly extinguished.

"Port workers were in shelters, so fortunately, there were no casualties. Currently, several ports are temporarily not accepting trains — traffic will resume once the situation stabilizes," the statement said.
Kuleba emphasized that Russia is deliberately targeting infrastructure that supports Ukraine’s economy and ensures the delivery of essential goods.
"Russia is trying to stop what connects the country. But even under fire, the system continues to function, and we keep restoring it. Our top priority is people’s safety," he wrote.
Commissions and repair crews are working on site. Transport is gradually being restored, while emergency services and utility teams continue to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
Strike on October 20
Last night, Russian forces again struck Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. In particular, in the Sumy region, several trains are running with delays.
Additionally, due to the Russian strike, nearly three thousand subscribers were left without electricity in the Nizhyn district of Chernihiv region.
"We are doing everything possible to restore service to our subscribers as quickly as possible, though it is not easy. And once again, we remind everyone to maintain information silence and take personal safety measures! Take care of yourselves!" said Chernihivoblenergo.
According to the Air Forces, the enemy attacked last night with three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as 60 strike drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, along with other drones, coming from four directions.
