The Russian army launched 60 strike drones and three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles at Ukrainian territory overnight, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

During the night of October 20, the enemy attacked with three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as 60 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types from four directions. About 40 of them were Shaheds.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 38 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.

Impacts from three ballistic missiles and 20 strike UAVs were recorded at 12 locations.

Attack on October 20

During the night, Russian forces again attacked Ukraine's railway infrastructure. In particular, several trains in the Sumy region are running with delays.

Due to the Russian attack, nearly three thousand consumers were left without electricity in the Nizhyn district of the Chernihiv region.

"We are doing everything possible to restore power to our customers as quickly as we can, although it is not easy. Once again, we remind everyone to maintain information silence and follow personal safety measures! Take care of yourselves!" — stated Chernihivoblenergo (the regional energy company of Chernihiv).

On the evening of Sunday, October 19, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on a coal mine belonging to the DTEK energy company in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Nearly 200 people were trapped underground as a result of the strike.
