Russian strike on Kyiv: People may still be trapped under rubble

According to updated information, the number of people injured in the nighttime missile and drone attack on Kyiv has increased to 31. There may be more people under the rubble as the rescue operation is underway, says Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
As of 11 a.m. Kyiv time, the number of people injured in Kyiv has increased to 31. The most difficult situation remains in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where an active search and rescue operation is underway.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, at least 3 more people may be trapped under the rubble. Rescuers are doing everything possible to dismantle the destroyed structures and reach the victims as soon as possible.
Russian attack on Kyiv on June 23
On the night of June 23, 2025, Russia massively attacked Kyiv with drones and missiles. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, the most severe consequences were in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv. An entire entrance of a residential high-rise building was destroyed.
According to the latest reports, at least 7 people were killed. 6 of them were killed in Kyiv, and another person in Bila Tserkva.
Immediately after the Russian attack, the Russians began spreading fake news that all the strikes on Kyiv on the night of June 23 were aimed exclusively at military targets, and that the civilian deaths were the result of Ukrainian air defense. However, Ukraine denied these statements.
On the night of Monday, June 23, Russia launched over 350 drones, ballistic and cruise missiles at Ukraine.
