Russia strikes Ukraine with 352 drones and 16 missiles overnight

On the night of Monday, June 23, Russia launched more than 350 Shahed drones, ballistic and cruise missiles at the territory of Ukraine. The main direction of the Russian attack was Kyiv, Ukrainian Air Force reports.
On the night of June 23, starting at 8 p.m. Kyiv time, on June 22, Russia attacked with 368 air strikes:
- 352 Shahed-type attack drones and various types of imitator drones from the directions of: Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk of Russia;
- 11 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Taganrog and Bryansk regions of Russia;
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles from Kursk of Russia.The
Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
How many targets were shot down
According to preliminary data, as of 9 a.m. Kyiv, Ukrainian air defense neutralized 354 Russian missiles and drones, 158 were shot down by firepower, and 196 were lost locally:
- 146 Russian Shahed and other types of drones were shot down by firepower, 193 were locally lost/suppressed by electronic warfare;
- 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were shot down, 3 more were locally lost;
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles were shot down.
Direct hits by enemy air strikes were recorded at 6 locations, as well as the fall of downed targets or debris at 25 locations in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
Russian attack on Kyiv and region on June 23
On Sunday evening, June 22, the Russian army launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine. In particular, Russia attacked Kyiv and the Kyiv region with drones and ballistic missiles. Damage was recorded in many areas of Kyiv and several settlements in the region.
According to the latest information, 6 people have been killed.
In addition, the infrastructure of the Sviatoshyn metro station was damaged during the Russian attack.
