Russia spreads fake about dead victims from air defense missiles, Ukrainian side says

Russians are spreading a fake narrative claiming that all the strikes on Kyiv on the night of June 23 were allegedly aimed exclusively at military targets, and that the deaths of civilians were the result of Ukrainian air defense work, the Center for Countering Disinformation reports.
Immediately after another massive attack during the night of June 23, when Russian missiles and drones hit residential buildings in the capital and surrounding areas, Kremlin propaganda intensified its efforts to push false narratives in order to shift blame away from Russia for the killing of civilians in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
As noted by the Center for Countering Disinformation, these statements are a blatant manipulation that Moscow uses after every strike on civilian infrastructure. In doing so, Russia attempts to justify its actions to the international community and sow distrust among Ukrainians.
"Such claims are a cynical and outright lie of Russian propaganda, which the Kremlin resorts to after each terrorist strike on Ukraine to justify the actions of the Russian army and try to provoke a rift between civilians and the military in Ukraine," the statement says.
