Russian troops launched rocket attacks on Kharkiv late in the evening, and then on the night of January 17 began to attack southern Ukraine with Shaheds, in particular, the enemy targeted Odesa.

Kharkiv

Late last night, after 21:42, the Russian occupiers launched two missile attacks on Kharkiv from the Russian city of Belgorod with S-300 missiles. The missiles hit a roadway and a three-story building.

The Kholodnohirskyi district of the city came under attack. At least 17 people are known to have been injured. Among them are 16 women aged 38 to 90 and a 31-year-old man. Three of them were treated on the spot, the rest were hospitalized. One person has been reported dead. In addition, rescuers evacuated 30 people.

In the city, the attack damaged the facades of about 20 apartment buildings and destroyed 14 cars.

Also in Kharkiv, a hospital building caught fire as a result of a missile strike, and it sustained significant damage.

Of the 17 people injured in Kharkiv, nine were injured due to damage to the hospital. Liquidation of the consequences of Russian terror continues.

In addition, a court building in Kharkiv was heavily damaged in a night attack. This was reported by the Judiciary portal.

The Kharkiv City Council reports that 21 buildings, including 19 residential buildings, were damaged by enemy shelling.

A total of 522 windows were smashed in the buildings. Utilities are now promptly repairing the damage caused by the missile strike, closing broken windows and doors, and repairing the facades of the buildings.

Odesa

The night in Odesa was also restless. During a Russian nighttime attack by the Shaheds, explosions were heard in the city.

As it later became known, three people were injured in the drone attack: a man and a woman were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. Another woman who suffered a bruised arm was treated on the spot.

A gas pipe caught fire as a result of the enemy strike, and one of the city's high-rise buildings sustained the most significant damage.

The local Dumska news agency reports that there are no surviving apartments in the damaged building. In total, rescuers managed to evacuate 130 residents of the building.

Cars were on fire near the building, and there were two craters.

According to Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, more than fifty buildings in Odesa are without heating as a result of the Shaheds attack. As a result of damage to the heating network, 58 buildings in Odesa are currently without heating. The term of repair works is one day.

Russian last night's shelling of Ukraine

Last night, Russian troops launched a massive attack with Shahed kamikaze drones and once again terrorized Kharkiv from Belgorod, launching S-300 missiles. 17 people were injured and one more was killed.

In addition, on the night of January 17, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 11 drones on the approach to Odesa region. However, there are still consequences. According to the Odesa Regional Military Administration, three people were injured.

The Russian occupiers also attacked the Kherson, Dnipro, and Sumy regions. There were no casualties there. In total, 10 attacks were recorded last night in 8 localities across the country.
