Russian strike hits rescuers in Kherson as they battle fire (photos)

The Russian army struck rescuers in Kherson today while they were responding to the aftermath of a previous attack, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES).
Earlier today, the enemy attacked one of the districts in Kherson. As a result, a non-residential two-story building caught fire. Firefighters arrived on the scene to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
While they were extinguishing the blaze, the Russian army launched a second strike.
"Fortunately, the rescuers managed to take cover in time — no one was injured," the SES reported.
Attacks on Kherson and the region
Russian forces continue to terrorize Kherson and the region even after withdrawing from the area in the fall of 2022. Recently, the Russian army has increasingly used drones while actively striking the regional center and the liberated settlements with artillery and guided aerial bombs (KABs).
In particular, on the night of July 13, two people were wounded in Kherson after an artillery strike by Russian forces. On July 9, the Russian army shelled Kherson’s railway station, injuring three people in one of the city’s districts.
