Russian strike hits Kherson bridge again: Damage less severe than yesterday

Today's strike by Russian aviation on the Ostrivskyi Bridge in Kherson was not as critical as the previous one. Access to the city's Korabelny district remains possible, Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reports.
"There was another strike on the bridge, but it wasn't as critical as yesterday. It's damaged, but still passable. Tomorrow, experts will inspect the bridge's condition and report back to us," Tolokonnikov said.
According to the Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the ongoing shelling of Kherson had already complicated the delivery of food and medicine to the Korabelny district. As Tolokonnikov explained, pharmacies there had stopped operating, forcing residents to travel to safer parts of Kherson.
"As for the people living there, we're actively working to encourage them to evacuate," emphasized the representative of the Regional Military Administration, adding that even without the bridge, evacuation from the district will still be possible, but it's better to leave now.
Shelling of bridge in Kherson
Russian troops have been shelling the Korabelny district of Kherson for the third consecutive day. Both yesterday and today, the Ostrivskyi Bridge leading to the Korabelny district came under enemy fire. Today, one man was killed due to the shelling.
Despite the damage, movement across the Ostrivskyi Bridge remains possible, stated Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration. According to Prokudin, about 1,800 people still remain in the Korabelny district. Some of them have already agreed to evacuate.
The shelling of Kherson does not indicate plans by the Russians to storm the city, assured Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine. According to him, no Russian soldiers are willing to attempt a river crossing over the Dnipro.
