Damaged but not down: What Kherson bridge looks like after Russian strikes

For the third day in a row, Russian aircraft have been attacking Kherson's Korabelnyi district. The Ostrivskyi Bridge was hit for the second time, but traffic on it remains, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
"There are several hits on the Ostrivskyi Bridge. Due to the damage, traffic on it is difficult, but currently possible. Currently, about 1,800 people remain in the Korabel neighborhood, including 187 people with limited mobility and 31 children. We are working on their evacuation," said the governor.
Prokudin urged residents of the Korabel neighborhood to evacuate. According to him, places for comfortable living in shelters have already been prepared for them. There are already about 50 applications for evacuation, 18 of which are from residents with limited mobility.
"We have 35 vehicles available for evacuation, including ambulances to transport people with limited mobility. We are also working with families with children - seven have already agreed to leave. Unfortunately, we also have two categorical refusals," he added.
Strikes on Kherson bridge
On Saturday, August 2, the Russian army attacked a bridge in the Korabel neighborhood in Kherson. The attack damaged the transportation infrastructure, which complicated logistics.
The next day, on August 3, Russian troops attacked the bridge again with guided aerial bombs. According to the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, the strikes damaged the road surface.
Despite the attacks, there is currently no threat of a Russian assault on Kherson, the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine assure. Ukrainian intelligence data shows that no Russian troops are willing to force the Dnipro River, said Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces.
