Russian strike hits industrial facility in Ukraine's city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region

During the night of Monday, October 13, the city of Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine came under Russian attack. The enemy struck an industrial facility, according to the State Emergency Service and the Nizhyn City Council.
What the State Emergency Service says
According to the State Emergency Service, a Russian strike on Nizhyn damaged an industrial enterprise. Two impacts were recorded — one in a production building and another in an administrative building. The strike caused a fire.
"Rescuers quickly extinguished the blaze and prevented the fire from spreading," the statement said.
At the same time, the Nizhyn City Council did not disclose details about the nighttime attack.
What the Regional Administration says
According to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, the enemy carried out 36 attacks on the region over the past day. Twenty-three settlements came under attack. Most strikes were carried out mainly using FPV drones and drone-dropped munitions in border areas. The Russian army also used various types of attack drones.
Yesterday in Chernihiv, five civilians were injured as a result of an attack on one of the infrastructure facilities. All received the necessary medical assistance, and three were hospitalized.
In the Chernihiv district, a drone explosion damaged a locomotive and set vegetation on fire.
In the Nizhyn district, strikes hit the territory of an infrastructure facility and one of the local enterprises, causing the roof to catch fire.
Attacks on October 13
In the evening of October 12, Russian forces launched several groups of attack drones, and during the night, air raid alerts were declared across the country due to the threat of a ballistic strike.
Enemy drones were spotted in various regions of Ukraine. Around 2 a.m., explosions were heard in the Odesa region. Later, it became known that the attack caused a large fire — the flames covered more than 5,000 square meters of warehouse buildings where fabrics, clothing, and packaging materials were stored.
The city of Kharkiv also came under drone attack that night.
According to the Air Force, that night, Russia carried out another attack on the territory of Ukraine, using 82 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types.
