On Thursday, July 31, Russian forces nearly destroyed a residential building in Kramatorsk with a missile strike, according to the Kramatorsk City Council.

The City Council noted that Russian forces struck the densely populated city center. The full extent of the consequences will be known after the search and rescue operation is complete.

They also added that relatives of those trapped under the rubble are waiting for news at the site of the tragedy. Psychologists, police officers, and rescue workers are providing support on the ground.

Strike on Kramatorsk

Earlier today, July 31, at around 3:00 p.m., an explosion rocked the city of Kramatorsk. Photos circulating online showed smoke rising above the city.

Later, Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that one person was killed and 11 others were injured in the Russian strike.

He also confirmed that Russian forces deliberately targeted a five-story residential building. As a result, half of the structure was completely destroyed.

These are not the final figures, as rescue teams continue clearing the rubble.

In a separate overnight attack on July 31, Russian forces also struck residential buildings in Kyiv. At this time, 11 people have been confirmed dead and over 100 injured.
