Russian ship with Kalibr missiles reported in Black Sea - Ukrainian Navy
This morning, only one Russian warship is reported to be stationed in the Black Sea, deployed by Russia for combat duty. The vessel is armed with Kalibr cruise missiles, reports the Ukrainian Navy.
Military sources reported that the Russian ship in the Black Sea can launch up to 4 missiles in a single salvo.
Meanwhile, no enemy vessels have been observed in the Sea of Azov.
In the Mediterranean Sea, 2 Russian ships have been spotted, one of which is a Kalibr cruise missile carrier, capable of launching up to 4 missiles in a single salvo.
The Ukrainian Navy reported that over the past 24 hours, vessels of interest to Russia passed through the Kerch Strait as follows:
- To the Black Sea - 7 ships, of which 6 continued towards the Bosporus Strait.
- To the Sea of Azov - 6 ships, with 1 moving from the Bosporus Strait.
Earlier, Ukrainian Navy representative Dmytro Pletenchuk stated that Russian forces have shifted focus to submarines rather than surface ships.
Additionally, on August 2, Ukrainian forces sank the Russian submarine Rostov-on-Don of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the port of occupied Sevastopol.
Analysts at Defence Express suggest that the destruction of the Rostov-on-Don indicates that Russian forces will be unable to repair their submarines in the Black Sea. Experts note that sinking the Rostov will incapacitate an additional four Russian submarines.
