During the negotiations in Istanbul, Russia handed Ukraine a peace memorandum outlining its conditions for a ceasefire and a peace agreement. Russia's position has effectively remained unchanged, according to Axios.

According to a Ukrainian official who spoke to the outlet, Russia's position outlined in the peace memorandum remains unchanged and includes demands that Ukraine withdraw its troops from the regions claimed by the aggressor state.

Russia hands over memorandum to Ukraine

Today, June 2, the second round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia took place in Türkiye. The meeting focused on discussing conditions for ending the war.

During the meeting, the Russian delegation handed Ukraine a memorandum outlining its terms for ending the war. The document was delivered via Türkiye.

Additionally, on May 28, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov handed a document to the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, presenting Ukraine's position on a ceasefire with Russia. However, Russia has not yet responded to Ukraine's memorandum. It is expected that the document will be under review in Moscow for another week.
