Russia has not yet responded to Ukraine's memorandum on a complete ceasefire. According to Ukraine's Defense Minister and head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, it is expected that Moscow will review the document for another week.

He recalled that Ukraine had handed its document outlining a possible ceasefire to Russia several days ago. However, no response has been received from Moscow.

"It was only during today's discussion that they replied. They said they need at least a week to review any response," the minister added.

Ukraine and Russia exchange peace memorandums

On May 28, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported that he had handed a document to Vladimir Medinsky, head of the Russian delegation, outlining Ukraine's position on a ceasefire with Russia.

He also emphasized that Ukraine expects to receive a similar memorandum from Russia.

According to RBC-Ukraine sources today, June 2, Russia conveyed its own memorandum on a ceasefire and ending the war to Ukraine via Türkiye. This occurred during the talks in Istanbul.

Russia opposes a ceasefire with Ukraine lasting at least 30 days unless its own ultimatum conditions are met.
