Kyiv endured yet another massive attack by Russian forces using missiles and drones. The city was covered in smoke, homes of Kyiv residents were destroyed, craters formed, and dozens of people were injured.

Read about the consequences of the attack on Kyiv in the RBC-Ukraine report.

The air raid alert in the capital lasted almost the entire night. At dawn, residents of the capital were informed that the danger was over. However, the alert was announced again later. The danger in total lasted until 8:43 a.m. local time.

In total, Russian terrorists used more than half a thousand drones and missiles in the air attack. Most of them were directed at the capital. At the moment, the city has reported at least 23 injured people, including a 10-year-old girl.

Due to the attack, fires broke out in several districts of the city, prompting Kyiv residents to close their windows. In the morning, smog covered the capital. The Kyiv City Military Administration explained that there is currently a high concentration of combustion products in the air. Kyiv residents are advised not to go outside unless necessary and to drink more water.

Overall, due to Russia's combined attack, residential buildings, educational, medical, and transport infrastructure in Kyiv were damaged.

"Russia has once again staged a night of terror in Kyiv: shelling peaceful people and civilian facilities," said Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

An RBC-Ukraine correspondent visited the sites of hits where Russian missiles and drones caused destruction.

Thus, in one of the districts, Russian terrorists destroyed apartments on the second and third floors of a five-story building. There is a threat of collapse in the building, so residents are temporarily not allowed to enter their homes for safety reasons.

In addition to the destroyed apartments, burned cars are visible in the yard of residential buildings, and the stairwell in the five-story building in Vidradne, which was damaged as a result of the attack, is littered with glass.

In the Solomianskyi district overall, the enemy shelling partially destroyed not only the five-story building. There are also other damages and consequences. In particular, the roof of a seven-story building caught fire - the fire covered about 2,000 square meters.

In addition, in Shevchenkivskyi district, a kamikaze drone struck a new unoccupied eight-story building. The first floor was damaged.

In Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, falling debris from Russian drones was recorded.

Also, craters formed in some locations due to enemy strikes.

Work to restore the tracks in the capital continues, power has already been partially supplied, and trains heading to Fastiv have resumed normal operation. Trains in the northwestern (Sviatoshyn) direction are still running with reserve diesel locomotives.

Korosten-bound trains will run via Pochaina and Darnytsia - on the left bank there will be an additional stop with the possibility to transfer to the Kyiv City Express.

Train departures from Kyiv are taking place with delays.

Furthermore, in Kyiv, due to the terrorist attack, five ambulances that were responding to calls from injured residents of the city were damaged.

Russia's massive attack on night of July 4

During the massive combined attack on the night of July 4, Russian forces used 539 drones, of which more than 330 were strike Shahed UAVs. This is the largest number the enemy has used in a single attack.

Russian troops also launched one aeroballistic missile Kinzhal, six Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and four Iskander-K cruise missiles.

Most enemy targets were eliminated, but the ballistic missiles were not.

Overall, in addition to Kyiv, today’s Russian strike affected the Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions. Across Ukraine, enemy hits were recorded in 8 locations (9 missiles and 63 drones), as well as falling debris from downed targets in 33 locations.

Ukrainian authorities emphasize that the massive combined missile and drone strike on Ukraine's capital took place after a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Kyiv underscores that appeasing the enemy does not work - pressure on the aggressor is necessary.
