After a phone call between Russian president Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kyiv, emphasizes the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha.

In the early hours of July 4, Ukraine’s capital experienced one of the most brutal nights since the start of the full-scale invasion.

According to Sybiha, Russian forces struck Kyiv with hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles simultaneously.

He described it as "an absolutely horrible and sleepless night in Kyiv," saying that the attack came right after Putin’s call with Trump.

"Putin clearly shows his complete disregard for the United States and everyone who has called for an end to the war," Sybiha stated.

The foreign minister stressed that recent events should serve as a wake-up call for the world.

"Stop waiting for peace. Act to achieve peace. Peace through strength," he urged.

Sybiha called on the US and its allies to immediately tighten sanctions against Moscow and provide Ukraine with all the tools it needs for defense.

"Wrong decisions can only encourage the aggressor to escalate terror. Every criminal regime in the world is now watching closely Putin’s actions and responses to them. If he gets away with all of this, everyone will get a very clear message,” he warned.

July 4 attack on Kyiv

On the evening of July 3, air raid sirens were triggered in Kyiv due to the threat of a drone attack, lasting more than two hours.

Shortly after a brief pause, the sirens sounded again. Overnight into July 4, Kyiv was hit with a combined attack involving ballistic missiles and drones.

According to the latest reports, 23 people were injured.

Additionally, US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a phone call that lasted nearly an hour.

During the conversation, the Kremlin leader reportedly warned that Russia would not back down from its goals of eliminating the root causes of the conflict with Ukraine.
